Pompeii, an ancient Roman city once populated by more than 10 thousand people, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. The story of Pompeii is famous all over the world and today the archaeological site is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy. You can visit the Forum, once the centre of the city’s political and social life, the temples, the buildings, the theatres, and the houses to admire the decorations, mosaics, paintings, and everyday objects. Pompeii offers its visitors an important piece of history.
The day will continue towards the famous volcano Vesuvius. Gone down in history for the famous eruption of 79 A.D. which buried some ancient Roman cities such as Pompeii and Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius is located about 20 km from Naples. We will reach 1,000 meters of height by car, and from that point, the tour will continue on foot for about 30 minutes. Once on the crater, we will meet a guide who will give us information about the history of the crater. At the top you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire Gulf of Naples.
The Campania region boasts rich volcanic soil which, since roman times, made it famous for the wine production.
On this tour you will enjoy an exclusive wine experience at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. You will visit a typical vineyard and taste the best local organic wines like the Lacryma Christi DOP.
