Tour Description
On this tour you will visit Paestum, ancient city of the Magna Graecia, and discover its famous Archaeological Park. Here you can see some of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples of the Greek era, from the temple of Athena to those of Neptune and Hera, built in perfect Doric order. At the centre of the site, you can admire the Roman Forum with foundations of public and private buildings. There is also a small Roman amphitheatre of which only the southern half is visible.
Inside the Archaeological Museum, one of the most visited in Southern Italy, you can also admire the Tomb of the Diver, rare example of decorative Greek painting of a chest tomb.
After visiting the archaeological site, we will head to the area where the excellent Campania Buffalo mozzarella is produced, recognised by the European community with the prestigious DOP mark. This is a fresh cheese of the highest quality, famous all over the world for its unique flavour and for being the irreplaceable ingredient of the Pizza Margherita.
