Tour Description
This tour will allow you to admire two of the most fascinating places in our region: the famous Mount Vesuvius and the Royal Palace of Caserta.
Known in history for the famous eruption of 79 A.D. which covered some ancient Roman cities like Pompeii and Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius is located about 20 km from Naples. We will reach 1000 meters of height by car, from that point the tour will continue on foot for about 30 minutes. Once on the crater, we will meet a guide who will give us information about the history of the crater. The volcano area became National Park in 1995. At the top you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples.
The Royal Palace of Caserta, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, is considered one of the most beautiful buildings of the world. Built by the Bourbons of Naples, the royal residence was inaugurated in 1780. The project was followed by the architect Vanvitelli. The palace covers 45,000 m2 with 1,200 rooms, 134 staircases and a 3 km long park. Throughout this tour you will discover the hidden history behind its fountains, sculptures and falls. When you will reach the top of the hill in front of the Palace you can also visit the beautiful English Garden, which hosts native and exotic plants.
